The Mayo Clinic College of Medicine is pleased to announce the opening
of registration for its 2nd Annual Conference on Systems Engineering
& Operations Research in Health Care, to be held August 17 and
18,
2009, in Rochester, MN. The conference will present both
applied
and theoretical work on
* Models for health care delivery
& system design
* Models for outpatient and surgical
scheduling
* Models for workflow and staff
management
* Models for clinical outcomes
management and disease progression
Plenary sessions will focus on strategies for building the analytical
infrastructure to support improvement of the health care delivery
system, and for teaching essential concepts of systems engineering and
operations research to health care providers and managers.
Submissions for the poster session are still being accepted.

IICAI-09 will be held in Tumkur (near Bangalore), India during December
16-18 2009. The conference consists of paper presentations, special
workshops, sessions, invited talks and local tours, etc. We

February 25–28, 2010, in Atlanta, GA.ASQ’s
(American Society for Quality) Healthcare and Quality Management
divisions, and The Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE) and its
Society for Health Systems (SHS), will launch a joint conference
focused on healthcare quality and process improvement. The new joint
conference will be held February 25–28, 2010, in Atlanta, Ga.
The
conference will
bring together healthcare quality professionals, performance
improvement specialists and other healthcare professionals involved
with or interested in developing the quality and operations improvement
skills and knowledge needed to successfully manage complex healthcare
environments.

tremendous
advancement for the industry and a great opportunity for the members of
both societies," said Pierce Story, president of SHS and managing
director at Jumbee, Inc. "This powerful alliance will foster and
strengthen the natural synergies between performance improvement and
