Events Manager, Product Marketing 
This position can be based in San Francisco, CA or New York, NY.

The area: Product Marketing

The Product Marketing team partners with Engineering, Product Management, and the Sales organization to inform customers and the Sales team about new Google products and features. We conduct extensive market research to better understand and meet our users' needs. Working within our portfolio of consumer products (such as Search, Gmail, Maps, or Earth), we devise plans to make our users happier and increase the usefulness of our products. We use quantitative analysis and other research methods to improve the effectiveness of online marketing and better understand user behavior. Finally, Product Marketing works with our Ads product teams to communicate to advertisers and users how much value they gain from using Google products. As new advertising technologies are introduced to prospective customers, we develop messaging, collateral, events, and sales strategies to ensure their success.

The role: Events Manager, Product Marketing

Events Managers are experienced event marketing professionals who manage some of Google’s highest profile events nationwide. As Events Manager, you have the experience to manage online marketing programs, PR experience as well as has a proven record in developing event-driven marketing programs. You should also have exceptional project management and organization skills. Managers thrive under pressure, love to travel, and have a passion for event logistics, strategy and tactics.

Responsibilities:

    * Help concept, produce, and measure alternative event driven marketing programs from non-traditional presence at events, online programs, and “live marketing” with PR/buzz amplification.
    * Event budget and event calendar management for assigned projects.
    * Full event management and production including all aspects of event logistics from development of content, production, venue management, promotions and other event-related marketing responsibilities.
    * Analyze programs for effectiveness; conduct post-event reporting and ROI analysis.
    * Interact with vendors, partners, company executives and a wide range of functional groups within Google.

Requirements:

    * BA/BS degree or equivalent experience required with at least 5 years of experience in a similar event management role.
    * Must be self-motivated, articulate, and possess excellent verbal, written communications and strong interpersonal skills.
    * Exceptional budget management, negotiation, and organizational skills.
    * Ability to work smart in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
    * Must be willing to travel and work long flexible hours.

As a Business Marketing Manager for the North America Business Marketing group, you are a seasoned professional, responsible for contributing to Google's customer education and retention efforts. This person will be an integral member of a team focused on increasing advertiser sophistication, preventing advertiser lapse/churn, and reducing advertiser support needs. This candidate will have marketing or consulting experience, will be comfortable analyzing large sets of data to identify opportunities and build programs, and will have a deep understanding of the SMB market.
Responsibilities:

    * Work with the SMB Customer Marketing team to build and implement Google's customer education and development strategy and programs.
    * Build and implement marketing programs focused on increasing advertiser sophistication and reducing advertiser support needs.
    * Drive the development of a customer segmentation and advertiser lifecycle model.
    * Perform statistical analysis in order to identify key business opportunities.
    * Develop, implement, and track customer education programs that utilize a one to many strategy.

Requirements:

    * BA/BS degree preferred with a strong academic record; MBA a plus.
    * Ideal candidates will have experience in marketing, business development, and/or consulting and a demonstrated interest in technology.
    * Passion for the small- and medium-size business space, driving revenue and running marketing programs.
    * Impeccable business judgment and ability to communicate with finance, analytics, and technical teams.
    * Outstanding written and oral communication skills.

    * Assume primary responsibility for developing a customer segmentation and advertiser life-cycle model and use data to identify key business opportunities.
    * Manage a team responsible for the development, implementation, and tracking of marketing programs targeting SMB customers.
    * Lead the development of scaled marketing programs that utilize a one-to-many strategy (such as webinars).

Requirements:
